Romeo and Juliet

In Baz lurmans adaption of romeo and Juliet he uses the symbolism of Jesus in a lot of his scenes. i think he uses Jesus to symbolize that there is someone watching over Romeo and Juliet like how Romeo is always talking about fate. I think that they used Jesus as a sign that there is a greater force controlling your every move, although in this case fate doesn't have the most pleasant ending. I also think Jesus may be a sort of i brought you into this world and i can take you out character because with them in the first scene to the last.

another thing I noticed is that all odds are against romeo and Juliet and they are still able to come together as one couple sort of the happily ever after that never happened. I always wonder to myself what would happen if Romeo was more stubborn and didn't go to the party. a thing that plays a hug role in the story is that romeo is a pushover because he doesn't ever really oppose anyones will until  he kills Tybalt. things in the movie get more interesting after that happens because he sort of goes rogue and travels into the countryside.

one thing i realize in the story is that there is always a sense of disapproval from the parent,s or Tybalt, or the nurse, or Mercutio. i think that this disapproval may have even brought the characters closer together for a sort of rebellious cause to prove something. I think hat the story of romeo and Juliet may have been based on an event or a secret love in Shakespeare's life. there is an aspect in the movie that isnt in the book so much and it's that Romeo is sort of a party pooper and only focuses on love in his life.

I think that Romeo has really supportive friends and family and they want the best for him. Juliet on the other hand is a different story her family doesn't care for her and she is a free spirit not wanting to be controlled by anything.  Juliet's father cares about her wile romeo's doesn't so much  so it's almost as if their families are completely different. is that purposeful or a coincidence? i think that this may have been a purposeful choice by William Shakespeare to really show their different after all opposites attract.
